Faced with the need to find a custom solution for a mini bike with a 40mm gas tank neck, I delved into the challenge of creating a bespoke cap to meet this specification.Using a similar process to the previous one, I started by carefully measuring the mouth of the tank with a caliper, ensuring accuracy in dimensions. With these measurements in hand, I started modeling in the Fusion 360 software.From there, I used the gas tank cap reference and visual characteristics of other gas tank caps as a guide for the design. Every curve and detail has been precisely replicated to ensure a perfect fit and harmonious aesthetic.When printing the model in 3D, I chose the PLA material for its malleability and ease of manipulation. However, the required durability and strength were achieved through careful design optimization.The end result was a gas tank cap that perfectly fit the mini bike, providing a custom solution that met exact specifications. This process demonstrates the versatility of digital manufacturing in creating customized parts, even for small equipment, such as mini motorcycles.
