Custom Flat Fan mod for Creality CR-10s
thingiverse
To successfully utilize this model, acquire a 5015 fan costing one dollar or less, some pliers, and a soldering iron. This is my custom-designed fan duct for the Creality CR-10s. I am publishing it in order to assist fellow users who have encountered the same issue that I faced: the "twisted fan duct" consistently failed to deliver satisfactory results due to the extruder being screwed into place with plastic and subsequently melting over time, resulting in a faulty layer shift. I experimented with printing it using Nylon, ABS, and PLA filaments, but all attempts ended in disappointment. This model effectively resolved my problem. To replicate its performance, you will need the same 5015 fan and attach it to the right side of the original cooler box. The model adheres directly below both the exit of the fan and the original black metal box. Instructions: - Print the model using your CR-10s with PETG, ABS, or Nylon (high temp filament). - Cut the original wires of the tip cooler close to the fan. - Remove the original fan screws and take off the cooler along with its little duct. - Solder the wires of the new 5015 fan into place. - Attach the fan securely to the right side of the box using a strong adhesive, such as Contact adhesive. - Before everything sets in place, stick the printed part firmly down to the box and the fan, ensuring that the airflow blows correctly without any leaks. - Allow sufficient time for the glue and print to fully set. If you successfully modify this model to eliminate the need for glue, kindly share your findings with me!
