Custom Doll House Doors and Windows
thingiverse
I crafted a dollhouse for my little girl this past Christmas and had a clear vision in mind for the side of windows and doors. I prefer tackling projects like this one from scratch to ensure long-term efficiency is factored in every step of the way. The door is a beautifully crafted 3-panel shaker, while the window and door trim features a single groove with elegant corner rosettes, giving it a very traditional look. The OpenScad files were designed with flexibility in mind, allowing you to customize everything from window size to door depth and material thickness. You can even print the trim separately into individual components - jamb, trim, and slab - for added precision. I've included STL files that use 1/2" plywood measurements if you'd like to try using them as a starting point. However, my intention is not for you to stick strictly to these dimensions; instead, let your jigsaw take the lead in cutting out the material, and then custom-fit the window accordingly. Simply cut the openings square - trust me on this one, it makes all the difference!
