I've built a 3D printed CNC tailored specifically for etching PCBs. Every component was sourced from readily available parts at an affordable price point. I chose 2020 extrusions as the framework because they're easily modeled and adapted if you need to make custom modifications. Plus, many of the parts can be found on GrabCAD, giving you the freedom to design your own customized version of my project with credit given, naturally!
