During the 2020 lock-down the majority of my classes transitioned to online platforms. I found myself spending a significant amount of time working from my home desk. A clean and organized workspace has became crucial for my productivity and mental well-being. So, I embarked on a journey to design and create my own custom desk organizer.Material Choice:For this project, I chose to print everything using TTYT3D's exquisite silky rainbow PLA filament, which you can find here: Silky Rainbow PLA Filament. The vibrant and ever-changing colors of this filament added a unique touch to my workspace.Versatile and Thoughtful Design:My custom desk organizer is an all-in-one solution, featuring the following components:Pencil Cup: With two small sections at the back, one designed to hold scissors and the other for calipers, along with a stash of 6-inch rulers—because you can never have too many rulers.Calculator Holder: Originally designed for a TI-84 Plus CE, it accommodates smaller calculators like the TI-36X Pro. Trinket Tray: Perfect for holding miscellaneous small items and adding a touch of tidiness to your desk.Post-it Note Tray: A designated spot for your post-it notes, complete with room for a small spiral notebook and a handful of flashcards.Notepad/Flashcard Holder: Keep your notepad or flashcards within arm's reach, enhancing your productivity.Eraser Box: Designed to hold a standard art eraser, it includes hooks on the back for easy attachment to the pencil cup. If printed at a .28 layer height, the hooks may not print properly, but I've provided a version without hooks that you can glue in place.Assembly and Customization:I used removable double-sided tape to assemble all the components and added rubber feet to prevent sliding.
