My Daughter needed a lamp and so I designed one that she loves, matching the jewelry box I made her https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2875966. This simple lamp can be easily modified with additional features as I did by adding a separate electronic switch (which I also included, but you'll need to adjust the STL file for size - this design is optimized for a 12.6mm thick desk). To make it even more unique, I printed it with Hatchbox Glow in the Dark filament. The lamp arm and base are separate pieces that can be easily assembled. I inserted a wire with a 12v Cob light and a 60 ohm resistor (though you may need to adjust this value depending on your chosen power source or wattage). Wiring it up is entirely your decision - feel free to get creative! I just couldn't resist making hers programmable, after all.
