Custom carbon fiber quadcopter frame _ R-Fly
thingiverse
Hello everyone! Im finally uploading my quadcopter frame STL files after so many requests! Im uploading for free so you can share with me your experiences with your own builds, and some improvements you may have made to it! The model itself is not a finished product. I designed it to be printed as thin as possible (only 2 shells), so it can stay together with the carbon fiber as an internal skeleton without adding too much weight, and to get rid of the demolding process. After 2 layers of carbon fiber this thing got really strong! But of course you can try to make a 3D printed-only version! I recommend 5 shells for that and no infill at all! Please notice that you are going to need a little extra time with a drilling machine like Dremel on this. And a powerful fast glue too like Zap-A-Gap or Locktite do put body parts and arms together. Small holes on the inside part of the arms are needed to pass the wires through. I also glued the landing gear to the body. I also drilled the upper cover out, and laminated it separately, so you have access to all the electronics. This is not a finished project, don't forget your sense of adventure! Hope you enjoy the model! Don't be afraid to ask any questions! Hello everyone! Im finally uploading my quadcopter frame STL files after so many requests! I'm sharing them for free. Share with me your experiences and improvements made on your own builds. The model isn't complete, but I designed it thin (2 shells) for a lightweight carbon fiber internal skeleton without extra demolding hassle. With 2 layers of carbon fiber, it's incredibly strong. For an all-3D-printed version, use 5 shells with no infill and get creative! Keep in mind: a drilling machine like Dremel will help speed things up. Fast-setting glues (Zap-A-Gap or Locktite) will securely attach body parts. Drill holes in the arms to accommodate wires and glue your landing gear firmly in place. The upper cover has been drilled out for easy electronics access. Don't be shy about tackling unfinished projects – remember your sense of adventure! I'm excited for you to use this model! Feel free to ask questions along the way!
