Custom Breadboard

Custom Breadboard

Building a prototype requires flexibility, so I'm keeping things unsoldered to allow for tweaks as needed. However, finding a small enough breadboard to fit in my prop has been a challenge - even the smallest ones available are too big. Fortunately, I discovered an individual on Thingiverse who created their own custom breadboards, which sparked an idea. To address this issue, I designed and 3D printed a custom breadboard for my project, filled it with aluminum, and it seems to work well. Nevertheless, there's one significant drawback: repeatedly plugging and unplugging components from the same spot causes wear and tear, leading to loose connections. Additionally, incorporating aluminum into the design was quite laborious. My ideal solution would be a modular breadboard system that allows users to create custom shapes and sizes for their projects with ease. I envision how it could work in theory - designing the plastic components and ensuring reliable connections similar to commercial breadboards are the main hurdles to overcome.
