Custom bins for X-Wing miniatures ships
thingiverse
These are drop-in bins designed specifically for Stanley-style cases, known as Sortimo organizers. As I build and expand my collection, I plan to continue modeling ships using these secure containers. The goal is to maximize storage space while ensuring each ship fits securely in its designated bin. Currently, I have focused on the medium compartment size, but will consider larger or custom sizes if necessary. Feedback is always welcome, although I'm unlikely to accommodate new ship requests unless I own a model myself. To ensure users enjoy and benefit from these containers, please post your feedback, tips, and experiences with your makes. As this project continues to evolve, more features and improvements will be added over time. However, the existing bins have reached a relatively stable state. My first successful prints of an X-wing required around 8 attempts, making this process both rewarding and exhausting. Achieving the ideal balance between security and accessibility has proven challenging for models with complex shapes. Finding that sweet spot allows for smooth, easy removal without compromising the overall stability and durability of the storage system. These designs have been inspired by Thing 368666 as well as BoardGameGeek user xBino's projects. I've established a thread on BGG where you can discuss this project further - you can find it here: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1289088/3d-printed-custom-bins-stanley-storage-box. Available case configurations include: * Small Bin: 1 Tie Fighter * Medium Bin: 2 Tie Fighters, or 2 Tie Interceptors, 2 X-wings, or Mix and Match (including 2 Z-95 Head Hunters), * Medium Bin: 3 A-Wings * Medium Bin: 1 B-Wing, 1 Y-Wing * Small Bin: 1 E-Wing
