Custom 3d printer

This is a project that I spent over a year on. I included the detailed cad file so that you can customize and improve the printer. Here's the relatively complete part list: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TNV8dJyaGTgo2VyAGI9dsDStGGObaNqTprFFMZqqvzQ/edit Part prices tend to shift, so you might find better deals with different brands. Also, you might want to opt for a different style of heated bed, such as a silicone heat pad. That will require a solid state relay instead of an external mosfet. You will also need a milled aluminum plate and possibly a larger power supply. When I built this printer, I had to attach a new thermistor to the heat bed since the built in one didn't work for me. The building process is pretty long and complicated, but the cad file shows where each part is supposed to go. 8mm M5 screws are used for most parts that bolt to the frame, as well as the frame itself. The hardest part of the build was when I had to drill holes in the bed carriage, for the Y axis bearing assemblies. Drill slowly and make precise, even markings. I drilled the holes and then used bolts with nuts on the other side, but you may want to just tap the holes since tightening the nuts can be annoying.
