Custom 3D printer
thingiverse
I repurposed leftover CNC components to create a 3D printer, despite its possibly suboptimal design due to the use of spare parts. The printer was assembled using printed parts from a Printrbot Jr., including a new ultra-light X-axis carriage for a bowden extruder and a custom 40mm fan duct. Hardware components include aluminum plates, brackets, threaded rods, bearings, and various nuts and bolts. Electronics consist of Ramps 1.4, G3D drivers, an Arduino Mega 2560, Nema17 steppers, limit switches, a heated bed with glass plate, J-Head MK-IV extruder, and a PC power supply. Custom housing for the Ramps board and extruder components were printed from Thingiverse designs.
