The Curtiss Hawk was a fabric-covered wood and metal biplane manufactured as a fighter in the early to mid-1930s in the US. As one of the last biplanes produced for military use before World War II's onset, it inspired the F-11-C2 Goshawk, a naval variant with an air-cooled radial engine, while the army version employed an inline water-cooled engine. Post-military service, these aircraft were exported to South and Central American countries, China Nationalists, the Philippines, and other nations.
