The biplane, a Curtiss Hawk, was fabric covered wood and metal, produced as a fighter in the early to mid-1930s in the US. It marked one of the last biplanes for the military before modernization began prior to WWII. The P-6 Hawk and F-11-C2 Goshawk, naval variant, had differing engines - inline water cooled vs air-cooled radial. These aircraft were subsequently sold worldwide, including South & Central America, China Nationalists, and the Philippines among others.
