The Curtiss Hawk was a predominantly fabric-covered wood and metal biplane crafted as a fighter during the early to mid 1930s in the US. These aircraft were among the last biplanes produced for the US military before modernization initiatives began prior to World War II. The P-6 Hawk closely resembled its naval counterpart, the F-11-C2 Goshawk, with key differences being the navy version's air-cooled radial engine and the army version's water-cooled inline engine. After military service, these aircraft were exported to South and Central American nations, Chinese Nationalists, and the Philippines, among others.
