The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, an American single-engine fighter and ground-assault aircraft, debuted in 1938. Serving numerous Allied powers during WWII, it continued as a frontline machine until the war's end. Ranking third among US fighters of WWII, behind only P-51 and P-47, 13,738 P-40s were produced by November 1944. All built at Curtiss-Wright Corporation in Buffalo, New York, this aircraft marks the start of a series showcasing legendary aircraft eras.
