I'm really annoyed by sliding doors, especially when they only open halfway into my closet. It's so frustrating! Using a curtain is a much better option for me. I prefer utilizing the existing door channels instead of installing a curtain rod. There are countless tapestries available on Amazon that work wonderfully. This one I've chosen is absolutely fantastic.
