Here are my curtain bar holders. The screw holes at the bottom to anchor it is 4 mm. And to stabilize the bar after putting the bar into U shaped gap you will also need M4x40mm long screws and nuts. One U share has a gap distance of 19 mm and the other is 22.5 mm to hold an extensible bar. You can resize it for sure.
