In 2040, personal vehicles will offer various advantages over present options. They'll feature single or tandem configurations to enhance parking and lane usage, addressing future traffic and parking issues. Advanced cambering suspensions enable tighter turns at higher speeds, reducing congestion. Manufactured using micro-factories, these vehicles boast sturdy, simple constructions. Powered by hydraulic pumps, motors, and accumulators to recover braking energy, they're compatible with various power sources like bio-diesel, electric, and small displacement internal combustion engines. Organic fibers in a polymer resin are used for frame, wheels, and accumulators, allowing 3D print manufacturing with low carbon resources. The body is made of textiles stretched over the frame, as seen in the DV8 concept car. Hydraulic fluid derived from vegetable oils minimizes waste and hazardous spills during accidents. Weighing just 800 pounds, these vehicles have low weight and small contact patches to reduce energy needs. Exterior airbags automatically deploy to lower primary impact G loading. As a simplified 3D-printable model, this vehicle consists of three main assemblies (frame, interior, body), with nesting features for easy printing. The frame model includes multiple moving components, demonstrating the cambering suspension, and allows for print in place mechanisms. This design offers color variations through multi-colored printing.
