Current USA Marine LED Tank Edge Brackets
thingiverse
On my saltwater tank, I employ the Current USA Orbit Marine LED lighting system https://current-usa.com/orbit-marine-led/; however, after several years of use, the extendable legs on this system rusted up severely. Not only did they appear bad, but it also meant when I changed tanks, I couldn't extend them to fit the new tank properly. The small Torx screws on the side had become corroded likely due to moisture and salt content; yet this is an expensive light, so I couldn't simply discard it, thus I designed these brackets. They are very sleek, small clips that easily slide snugly over the aquarium's side, then the LED light bar just sits atop in a 'U' shaped cup. This design is simple yet functional and has restored my light to service. I know barely anyone will require this solution; however, I did so anyway... I've included the Sketchup file for easier editing. Specifically, aquarium glass comes with varying thicknesses, so you may need to print multiple parts with very small (0.25mm) adjustments to the gap that fits over the glass edge. This part prints in two pieces; simply slot them together and apply a tiny drop of CA (superglue) to bond them securely.
