Current Balance Lab

Current Balance Lab Set Up with 3D printed parts. (Also called “F = BIL lab” or, more properly, “Magnetic Force exerted on a current-carrying wire lab”) These two 3D printed objects can be used with magnets from the Vernier Carts along with power supply (or battery) and digital scale to investigate the relationships between Magnetic Force, Current, Length of Wire, and Magnetic Field for a current-carrying wire in a magnetic field. This design is based on Rex Rice’s design and is published with Rex’s permission. I do not want in any way to convey that I “created” this myself. My design is based on Rex’s Rice design for this and Michael Crofton’s update. I simply designed two objects to 3D print that made it easier for me to make a classroom set of these things. The wire dimensions used are identical to the design created by Rex Rice.
