Cura Octolapse Snap Script ========================== ### Cura script to add Octolapse snap command at a suitable location Run with default settings for a quick way to speed up Octolapse and to avoid some of the blobbing that occurs when using Layer Change trigger in Octolapse. Default values place "snap" command after z is moved to new layer height (First G0 move in the new layer). Install -------- - Place script in C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Roaming\cura\3.x\scripts (Check location in Cura Help -> Show Configuration Folder --> scripts) - Restart Cura to load new script. - Enable script by opening Extensions -> Post Processing -> Modify G-code - In the window that opens, click Add a script and select "Insert text after block (Octolapse snap)". The script will automatically run when a model is sliced. Note that the script stays active in Cura until closed (using the X in the script list). - Set Gcode trigger in Octolapse. - To include a snapshot of the finished print, due to how this script adds the snap command, you have to manually add a snap command in your Cura End Gcode editor (after you move the z-axis up not to scrape your masterpiece). It is safe to leave this command in the end code even when you are not running Octolapse (Tick "Suppress Snapshot Command When Disabled" in Octoprint printer settings). There is no need to include a snap command in the Start Gcode, unless you want two snaps of an empty bed. Test ---- Remember to test your settings by running Octolapse in Test Mode before starting an actual print. The included test.stl lets you quickly assess how Octolapse will perform with the snap script. Other uses ---------- This script can be used as a base for anything else involving search and replace as well. Edit code and learn about regex at https://www.regular-expressions.info/ for more uses.
