Cupcake X belt tensioner
thingiverse
For tightening the X belt on a MakerBot Industries cupcake, use this tensioner as others didn't fit. Note that some call it X while others Y, but it doesn't matter. Once tightened, the machine runs quietly, though it may not be good for the steppers. To install, remove the X belt pulley and place the slider onto the upper nut. Insert two bolts into the two nuts holding the tensioner halves together. Reassemble the tensioner outside the frame if needed. Tighten until the lower nut bottoms out. Be aware that the locating pins may not print well, but they're not essential for assembly. The clearance is tight at about 0.5 mm, so adjust accordingly if your machine differs. Good luck! Needed parts: - X belt slider (print it!) - 2 X bolt M3x16 (shorter ones work too) - 2 X nut M3 - Fingers and tools for assembly (Note: Please maintain the original character of the input text as much as possible.)
