Cupcake Dremel CNC
thingiverse
This Dremel mount was inspired by MarcusWolschon's PCB Mount, specifically designed for his quick disconnect system and Thingomatic. However, the creator made their own version as they needed it to fit differently. The model can be found at thingiverse.com/thing:9280. Instructions are provided with updates from May 13th and September 10th. The build requires a wooden platform, two 1/4" dia x 100mm shafts, six 8mm nuts, five little gold magnets, an 8mm x 120mm all thread, four 3mm nuts, four 3mm x 20mm socket head cap screws, and three 5mm nuts with 5mm x 20mm socket head cap screws. Some items can be purchased in Makerbot's Grab Bag #2 or separately. To assemble, print the necessary parts, glue magnets into the platform, insert bearings and nuts, install walls using 3mm screws and nuts, slide the pusher onto shafts, add more bearings and all thread, place work platform in Cupcake, fit 5mm nuts, mount Dremel, make machine profile adjustments, and change settings from extrusion to mill. For drilling holes, be aware that there could be issues with skeinforge's slicing. A workaround is to use a small drill tool or create a rectangle slightly larger than the tool diameter for the hole. Please see attached files for further details on computer setup and skeinforge settings. Remember to adjust the settings from extrusion to mill, ensuring your part is taller than the layer height. Happy printing!
