Edward, a 60-year-old man, suffered a brain event nine years ago and has since been struggling with aphasia (acquired speech disorder) and right-sided hemiplegia. To facilitate walking and balance, he relies on a walking cane. Edward resides in a nursing home in Jerusalem. Every week, he visits the Adelstein Center for Aphasia at Hadassah College in Jerusalem, where he receives various treatments aimed at improving his language skills. During breaks, Edward likes to prepare himself a cold or hot drink. However, due to his need for a walking cane, he is unable to carry his cup of drink to one of the nearby tables and always relies on someone else to do so. This device was designed to enable Edward to achieve independence in everyday tasks such as carrying a cup.
