I wanted a way to safely store my CCW in the car, so when I'm on long trips, I now use this custom insert designed specifically for my Chevy Uplander's cup holder. By inserting the muzzle, it's forced forward, causing the front sight to catch in a recess that securely locks it into place. This particular design fits my Sig P229 perfectly and also works well with my friend's 1911 and Skyy 9mm, although the latter requires a bit more care due to its unique trigger guard shape. I created this insert using Tinkercad, so there are no step files or customization options beyond resizing it. I want to emphasize that I've taken all necessary precautions to ensure safety, but ultimately, users must assess their own situation and accept any associated risks. Despite these warnings, I believe the benefits of using this insert far outweigh the potential dangers, which is why I've invested considerable effort into making it as safe as possible for now.
