Cup Holder for Woods Strathcona Folding Chair
thingiverse
I adore my camping chair, but unfortunately, it lacked a cup holder, which was a major drawback. To rectify this issue, I designed a clip-on attachment that can be easily attached to the frame of my trusty Woods Strathcona folding chair. The opening is spacious enough to accommodate a standard mug or my favorite YETI Rambler 20 oz. Tumbler, with an inside diameter of 90mm. This design ensures that the cup holder fits snugly on the right arm rest, but if you prefer it on the left side, simply mirror it in your slicer (in PrusaSlicer, you can right-click on the part to do this). You may also want to mirror the cup itself so that the hole for the mug handle is facing towards you. I intentionally designed the attachment to require no printing supports, additional hardware, or glue. This is why I included a horizontal slot that allows the bracket to attach to the cup holder (vertical was my initial preference, but I couldn't figure out how to do it without supports). The interface between the bracket and cup holder is a friction fit, which makes assembly easy. To assemble the attachment, simply place the flat part of the bracket on the edge of a table and push the cup holder into the slot. My printer had no problem bridging the gap in the slot. To attach the cup holder to the chair, pull back the corner material from the frame, hook the top part of the bracket, and then push it forward. Although it needs to be removed when folding the chair, it's simple to pop on and off.
