"Cup Hat" Lid
thingiverse
Our cat kept jumping up onto the coffee table to sniff or slurp from our cups. So, I created a lid to fit snugly over the cup without fully sealing it. My wife calls this version the Cup Hat, and that's what I'll refer to it as for now. Our drink cups vary between 90mm-92mm in diameter, and this lid self-centers perfectly on both sizes. The inner protrusion is designed to center the lid in the cup opening, and its tapered shape requires lifting the lid straight up approximately 1 cm to access the contents. Any animal that tries to push or lift from one side will have a hard time shoving it off. Our cat has given up trying to get into the cups; this works great! I'll print more in clear or white when I get those spools in the future. If you choose to use 100% infill, it might feel more substantial, but it still works by physics and design regardless of weight. My wife is curious if anyone knows a way to make 3D printed items dishwasher safe - that would be great!
