I'm glad you found some inspiration in our project! I've made some adjustments to it because, unfortunately, it didn't fit perfectly on my vent - it was too loose. To solve this problem, I decided to add two brackets that are connected with a screw serving as an axis and this simple mechanism expands nicely into a recess I also added a handle for a can at the bottom.
