Cup/Bottle holder for Pelican/Attwood rod holder mounts

This is a custom cupholder designed for use with Pelican/Attwood fishing rod holder mounts. Printing in PETG or ABS is recommended, as PLA can lose its structural integrity when exposed to direct sunlight over time. I printed both parts at 20% infill, but this may be excessive - I wanted to ensure the assembly could withstand rough handling, given my involvement with river kayaking and periodic class 2-3 rapids. To print the shaft successfully, supports are required everywhere and the angled end must touch the build plate. Assembly involves inserting an M3 nut into the hole on the notched end of the shaft and screwing an M3*20 panhead screw into the base of the cupholder portion. It's crucial to firmly attach this piece to the shaft. To prevent damage, I recommend using a washer to distribute the attachment force over a larger area and avoid pulling out the threads around the screw hole. By following these steps, you'll have a secure cupholder for your kayak, even if it only came with three rod holders like mine did. **UPDATE 6/15/2020:** To accommodate my Pelican Enforcer 120x, I've added an 18° spacer to ensure the cupholder sits level with the waterline. Two voids in the model allow for easy insertion of M3 nuts before layers 27 and 88 (if printing at 0.2mm layer height). If you're using this adapter, instead of inserting an M3 nut through the shaft's bottom, drive an M3*20 screw to attach it. A second M3*20 screw should be driven from inside the cupholder into the top of the adapter. **UPDATE 5/21/2021:** I've created a v2 of the cupholder portion to accommodate larger water bottles. The staggered opening is now 88mm, allowing Yeti 26oz Rambler bottles to fit in the cupholder.
