This design accommodates both 2020 and Makerslide X rails seamlessly. Full build details are readily available on the Wiki : https://github.com/c3D-Dan/Medusa/wiki What sets this apart from Dondolo and other solutions? It is compatible with all printers featuring 2020 and Makerslide X rails. The design is straightforward, consisting of few parts, which contributes to its high reliability and repeatability. It is light weight, fed by a Bowden system. Switching speed is higher than average. A zero backlash design results in clean surfaces. It is suitable for Slice Mosquito and Mosquito Magnum Hotends as well as their clones. Two-axis adjustable nozzle blockers enable variable nozzle Z position settings. The system maintains positional accuracy throughout the print, even on very large prints. An integrated mechanical Z probe (more reliable than BL-Touch, very repeatable) is included. Drawbacks: Mosquito Hotends can be pricey. If this is an issue, consider one of their clones. The gantry consumes 32mm more X space than Dondolo. If this is a problem, simply extend your printer. For most Creality style systems, this is very easy to do. Why not e3D v6 Hotends? They are slot-mounted and less reliable than Mosquito Hotends in this configuration. The slot mount of the V6 makes it difficult to mount in a way that results in perfect positioning every time. The slightest movement of the hotend during switching can result in inconsistent Z layers.
