Cucumber heart shape mold
thingiverse
I'm excited to show off my very first design from scratch using Fusion 360, which I created with the intention of recreating a product I've seen before that would take 45-60 days to arrive if I had ordered it online. Since all the cucumbers in my garden would be fully grown by then, I used this opportunity to challenge myself and came up with something new. This design is a cucumber shaper specifically made for straight eight cucumbers (15-20cm long by 5-6cm wide). You simply insert a young cucumber into this mold and let it grow out. As the cucumber grows and expands, it will take on the shape of the mold, in this case, a heart. This design can be used for all vegetables that are similar in shape and size, such as zucchinis, long eggplants, yellow squash, and more. I've printed a 1cm cross section of this design in PLA, and the two parts fit together perfectly. The full print will be 20cm long, so you'll need to use strap ties to keep the two halves together. I haven't printed the STL file in full yet because I'm waiting for my clear/transparent PETG to arrive. Since cucumbers don't require direct sunlight and grow in the shade of their own leaves, this design provides a great excuse to buy a new spool of filament and try out clear ones. Please share your print results with me, and happy printing!
