Cuchara adaptada
thingiverse
The product concept is based on the shape of a typical spoon with the following adaptations: It consists with a hole to keep as much liquid in it. In addition, it has a more convex shape to hold more food. Finally, the hole where the mouth is placed adapts to the size of each user's oro-facial opening to prevent spillage around the mouth. It has been tested on a 96-year-old elderly person with hand tremors and muscular hypotrophy. When eating liquid food with a spoon, a large part of the food fell out on the way from the plate to the mouth due to the aforementioned problems, preventing him from eating liquid food. The objective is to promote autonomy in eating, which is hindered by problems associated with aging. DESIGNED BY: Elisa Cremades, Occupational Therapy student at CSEU La Salle.
