CubieKid - Made-to-Measure Solutions for Small Children's Needs. When I discovered Thorsten's TonUINO project at https://www.voss.earth/tonuino/, I decided to develop a compatible housing that caters to the needs of small kids and their parents. The outcome is CubieKid, an ongoing process that continues to evolve with every suggestion and comment received to make it even better. No sharp corners or external screws are present in this design, and loose parts have been eliminated. A scoop-proof cover protects the speaker. To access audio files and battery change for servicing, a designated tool must be used to remove the access panel. The entire player is powered by batteries, an accu pack, or a USB power bank. This eliminates the need for external cables and power supplies, making CubieKid the perfect companion for all-day use. This housing can be made from medium-density fibreboard with a thickness of 3mm (apologies to users familiar with imperial measurements; everything is in metric dimensions due to this design's German origin). I'm utilizing a homemade CNC-mill (MaXYposi), which works efficiently. However, you can also opt for a Laser Cutting Device as an alternative.
