Cubicle hook for ellipsed-top wall

Late last year, my small company made a major move into a brand new office space. As part of the transition, we inherited an existing cubicle farm that needed some serious upgrades. Unfortunately, the tops of these cubicles were highly elliptical, which rendered most of our existing top-mounted wall hooks completely useless. I took to Thingiverse in search of compatible designs, but was unable to find a single match for the dimensions I was working with. Luckily, I had taken home a piece of one of the cube tops shortly after move-in and used it as reference material to design my own hook from scratch. Designing a parameterized hook that would work seamlessly with these unique cubicles proved to be a challenge, but I'm confident in its functionality. The top ellipse measures 42mm along the short axis and 86 mm across the long axis - a perfect combination for securing your coat hook in place while also allowing it to snap in easily with gentle pressure. What's more, the hook top itself locks firmly into position, and the small gap between the hook and the main coat hanger arm creates just enough space to lay flush against the slightly protruding cubicle wall. The hanger itself is sturdy and robust - I've loaded a couple of heavy winter coats on top of it without any signs of deformation. And with its generous length, you'll have no problem hanging a pair of headphones or even a small backpack. Plus, the raised tip keeps them from sliding off easily. My coworkers are all huge fans of this design and think they're a great improvement over the thin plastic hangers we had in our old office. One coworker has even asked if I'd be willing to remix this design into a white board marker hanger for him - it's definitely something I'll consider doing in the future.
