Cubicle Display Shelf Bracket
cults3d
This is a simple bracket I made to allow me to put up a display shelf in my work cubicle. I had tried to buy special shelves made to hang in cubicles, but they were all ridiculously priced and smaller than I wanted. These brackets hang on the partition panel so they require no screws to attach to the partition. See below for a list of items you will need in addition to the bracket to make a shelf. DISCLAIMER : These brackets worked for my specific situation, but if you use this design, you do so at your own risk, so use common sense. It's your fault if you overload the shelf and damage the partition, or if you scratch the surface of the partition (if it's not padded) or whatever. I make no claim that this bracket will fit any particular partition system, but if it it fits yours, I hope it will help. In addition to printing the brackets, you'll need to pick up a pair of 2 1/2" steel corner braces (the L brackets shown in the picture), a piece of light and sturdy wood for the shelf, and some bolts/nuts to hold it all together. For my shelf, I used a 1/4" x 5 1/2" x 24" piece of pine/spruce. The brackets are designed to attach to a 2 1/2" corner brace (the off-center holes in the model match the actual offset holes of the braces I used) so if you try to use another size corner brace, it won't fit properly. The bracket hangs on the top edge of a 1/2" thick partition panel. To install it in my cubicle, I had to remove the top partition retainer, and then remove the panel above the one I wanted to hang it on, to get enough clearance to set the brackets in place. I'd be happy to give detailed instructions if anyone would like them, but since I have no idea how standard the partition system my office uses is, and whether anyone else can actually use the design, I have just included pictures for now that should suffice to show you how I put things together. Please leave a comment if you have questions on anything.
