Cubic Knot (hard to print)
thingiverse
Printing this object is extremely challenging, as more than half of its sides hover in mid-air without making contact with the table. To successfully print it, you need to establish support for all sides wherever possible, maintaining a maximum vertical distance below 0.2mm. I opted for 0.1mm for this project. The corner lifting and curling forces are particularly significant issues to contend with; referring to image 2 should help illustrate the extent of the problem. You will require supports angled at 45 degrees or steeper, covering more than 20% of the model with sufficient clearance between them, in order to securely support the element during printing. If you have a superior approach for printing this object, please share your technique in the comments below.
