CubeSat module
grabcad
This Cubesat-sized model is created using additive manufacturing with PEI polyetherimide material. Metallic materials via laser sintering were rejected due to high costs. To withstand space temperature variations, chromium vacuum metallizing is recommended for reflecting solar radiation and minimizing temperature differences. The 3D printing technology allows for a symmetrical two-half design, requiring only one model print, resulting in good dimensional stability. Removable feet accommodate spring plungers, while reinforcements and ribs on sides handle launch vibrations. This basic module is customizable to specific satellite needs, with weights varying based on units (1U: 100g including screws and spring plunger; 1.5U: 137g; 2U: 178g; 3U: 247g). Compressed STL files are in the "STL" folder.
