CubeLED

As the name implies, this is a small cube designed to house two SMD 5050 LED strips. The strips are folded into thirds and the two "legs" are inserted into the grooves on opposite sides of the cube.... one from the top and one from the bottom. There are three holes that penetrate the model: a diagonal 3mm hole designed to accept some kind of structural element to support the fixture (I used a 3mm bamboo skewer I had lying around) and two other holes that act a conduits for jumper wires. Those holes are 2.5mm in diameter and can accommodate a pair of 30 AWG jumper wires. I'm not the world's best solderer and found it easier to solder the line power and jumpers to a strip before folding. The fixture puts out a nice even sphere of light which works well with a dodecahedron lamp shade that can be found here: (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6463995)UPDATE: I have added a new file (CubeLED v4.3mf) that increases the diameter of the diagonal hole to 3.5mm in oreder to be fully compatible with the DodecaShade mentioned above.I have included the Fusion360 file if you want to modify it.
With this file you will be able to print CubeLED with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on CubeLED.
