My Take on the Cube Spinner Design: A Significant Upgrade with Steel Balls I realized that a cube spinner made entirely of plastic lacked sufficient inertia, so I added steel balls to all eight corners to give it a much-needed boost. The result is a design that now boasts a substantial weight. To achieve this, I used 13 mm steel balls and one standard 608 bearing. To assemble the spinner, you will need two "Mainbody_half" components and two "Cap" components. The main body requires gluing together after inserting the bearing, while the caps must be glued separately. The steel balls should snap into place once inserted. My initial printed version had some imperfections, as evident from the photos, but I made adjustments to the files to improve printability for you. The model units are in millimeters. I also included "_simple" models without recesses on the cube's sides for those who prefer a clean look and "_inch" models with pockets for 1/2" (12.7 mm) steel balls. The printer settings used were 0.15 print resolution, with supports required. The spinner was printed using DasFilament bronze PLA. I had to experiment with different support settings to achieve the desired result.
