Cube Puzzles with and without Symmetry
thingiverse
Here are two amusing puzzles that form a 3x3x3 cube. They are made from a single pentacube, a single octacube and 2 identical heptacubes. Four STL files are given; two octacubes, p_8_3723 and p_8_4253, a single heptacube, p_7_50 and a pentacube, p_5_12. Print the pentacube, two copies of the heptacube, and the two octacubes. Use p_8_3723 with the pentacube and the two heptacubes to create puzzle_1. Switch octacubes to p_8_4253 to create puzzle_2. One of the completed puzzles has a 2 fold rotation axis - one does not. One of the completed puzzles has reflection symmetry - one does not. The search results might be useful for instruction - see Tiling Searches
