Cube printed in vase mode
thingiverse
I really like vase mode of printing, but usually you can't print a cube in vase mode. So I came to this experiment which is a success: 1) Rotate the cube and thus no surface are horizontal 2) Add some support (into the model, using any 3D modeling software) 3) Adjust line width (in slicer) and width of the support (in modeling software), making the width of support exactly twice the line width. This will allow the slicer just to go in and out the thin support. Photo 2 shows this step in Cura 4) Happy fast printing (just 9 minutes for this one) 5) Cut the support which is easy and leaves no gap I think this idea can be applied to many designs that would not have been possible to print in vase mode.
