UPDATE 31-Jan-2017: The lamp cover has been revamped to provide a more stable print, achieved by increasing the edge thickness - this resulted in a form stable print, whereas the previous design experienced some buckling in the material. To further enhance stability, the top has been thickened to 1.2mm (from 0.8). This modification enables the cube to support a load if something is placed on top. Additionally, the snap-on fitting has been widened and trimmed, minimizing its shadow. Since no suitable designs were found that allowed for an E27 socket, I designed this solution. The geometry is optimized to accommodate Ø41mm outer dimensions. The cube measures 15 cm on each side and stands at 25 cm tall. Although the cover is relatively thin (0.8mm) and somewhat fragile, the base is sturdy and features geometry to hold an E27 socket. I utilized a socket from Ikea and currently employ a LIFX smart bulb (worth checking out - they're excellent). Simply run the wire through the hole. It's recommended to use only LED light bulbs due to the lack of ventilation; normal filament lightbulbs could pose heat concerns. Please be aware that I am not liable for any damages resulting from using this design - exercise caution when working with high-voltage components.
