Cube Lamp

UPDATE 31-Jan-2017: The lamp cover has been updated to make it even more sturdy, by increasing the edge thickness - this resulted in a more stable print form, whereas I had some material buckling with the previous design. The top has also been thickened to 1.2mm (from 0.8), which helps the cube support loads if something is placed on top. Lastly, the snap-on fitting has been widened and trimmed, so its shadow is not as noticeable. I couldn't find a good design that would allow for an E27 socket, so I designed this one myself. The geometry is made to fit Ø41mm outer dimensions. It's 15 cm on each side and 25 cm tall. The cover is quite thin (0.8mm) and somewhat fragile, but the base is sturdy and contains geometry to hold an E27 socket. I used a socket from Ikea, and I'm currently using a LIFX smart bulb (check them out, they're really nice). Run the wire through the hole. I recommend only using LED light bulbs since there's no ventilation and heat could be a concern with normal filament lightbulbs. Remember to be smart when working with high voltage - I am not responsible for any damages done using this design.
