A modular cube formicarium. The cubes can magnetize together for expansion and inserts can be customized to suit individual needs. A blank insert is included to facilitate easy design, while two pre-designed inserts cater to those who prefer a hassle-free experience. The nest is spacious enough for my Camponotus pennsylvanicus, but even larger queens may struggle navigating the adapters. Hydration is effortlessly achieved via syringe or pipette from multiple locations. Jumbo cotton balls serve as a reliable hydration medium. The caps fit snugly and can be removed using a flat head screwdriver with minimal effort. These caps not only block off unused portals of the nest but also fit perfectly into air line tubing used for this setup. Adapters have been included for 1/2 outer diameter air line and 20mm test tubes, along with links to exact products utilized. This design has undergone a labor-intensive process, yet it is far from flawless. I encourage users to create innovative adapters, insert designs, and technical modifications. Perhaps a larger model or a hole in the body for a hydration test tube? Feel free to experiment, but please include proper attribution as per the license agreement.
