This is my rendition of a Cuban Yo Yo. It is smaller but just as effective. This is a small fishing reel substitute that does work! You simply hook your jig to the line which is spun around the spool and then use the momentum twirling the jig and release pointing the spool in the direction you want to cast, then you reel it in by hand and pulling arm movements. Works great and is convenient to carry around. I added a line slot to make it easier to tie the line to it and also some notches around the rim to allow easy spots for a hook to be set on. I call it the YoBenito because my name is Ben.
