Cub Scout Adventure Belt Loop Insert / Lion Pride Participation Necklace

The idea for the **_Lion Pride Participation Necklace_** came about based on the need for a way for Lion Scout to wear their Adventure belt loops since they don't have Cub Scout belts yet. When I was in Cub Scouts, our Dens always had totems for each Scout and a bead was awarded for participation. This was also something that my old OA Lodge did. I combined the bead participation concept along with the belt loops, but needed a way to put the them onto a cord without them falling off. This **Cub Scout Adventure Belt Loop Insert** was designed to slip inside the belt loop and provide a hole for a cord to pass through so that the belt loops can be word on a necklace. The inserts are friction fit and the loop ends on the back can be slightly bent in more, if necessary, to better hold the insert. No tape, glue, or other modifications are necessary so the inserts can be easily removed and put onto a Cub Scout belt in the future with no modification reversals needed. The current belt loop insert design will fit all of the modern belt loops since they standardized them across all of the Cub Scout ranks (unlike in the past when there were several different sizes. Additional notes on the *Lion Pride Participation Necklace* components: * The **beads** are fun bling, but also help to add spacing between the loops so that the necklace is more interesting and represent Scout participation as follows: * A **regular colored bead** is given for each Den or Pack meeting or event, * A **sparkle bead** is given for each special event (Spook-O-Ree, service project, etc.), * A **glow-in-the dark bead** is given for doing a good turn, being a helper, etc. (the Den Leaders also have necklaces with all glow in the dark beads so that we can just give a bead on the spot when we feel that a Scout deserves one). * The original plan was to use leather for the necklace cord, but decided to go with "Cub Scout Blue" (navy blue) **2.0mm satin silk nylon cord** for cost and vegan considerations (I had no idea if this would be an issue for any of the families and decided it was easy enough to avoid all together). * The **[name tags](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3837664)** were customized for each Scout to include their name, Den, Pack, year, etc. This helps identify who each necklace belongs to in case it is taken off and also serves a keepsake when they remove the loops next year to put onto their Cub Scout belt in Tigers. * All of this is for FUN and the Scouts seem to really like at as they seem to look forward to getting their bead after each event. After the initial necklace presentation, the Scouts seem eager to get more to add to their necklaces as many of them are wearing them regularly to events already.
