CTL Airsoft Launcher system
thingiverse
This is the final version of the Camaleonte Tag Launcher (CTL). It allows the user to launch grenades from a standard 40mm launcher, much like the real steel version, instead of using standard bb shower grenades. Looks like for some reason there's not many people interested in this. If you like what you see, consider shooting me a PM or posting a made to keep me motivated lol. It's more difficult than it seems. News: M32 version available here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3664562 Long story (TL;DR available at the end): The vision of this project is to spread the use of grenade launchers in airsoft fields, allowing for new tactics, better immersion and overall more fun games of airsoft. Current aftermarket launchers are very expensive and require custom disposable ammo that's expensive as well. I've been working on this project for a year to find a solution for these problems, and I think I succeeded in the purpose. Launcher: To use the launcher you need a grenade to start from. I decided to use a paintball grenade because of its big gas chamber and rear valve, allowing for great range and easy to reload. They are also really cheap and widely available. Any grenade of this type with tip diameter between 38-39mm will work. I tested this project on ASG, Matrix and another Chinese brand. They are all pretty much the same and compatible. The bigger the better for range, but at the cost of bulkiness. Keep in mind that M203 max grenade length is 120mm, but can be extended easily. Long type with green gas works like a charm, but short type with CO2 performs better and is less bulky. Big type with CO2 is too powerful and usable only as artillery. The choice is up to you. Launcher assembly: Simply print and glue to the grenade. It's really simple but it never gave me issues so far. A perfectly calibrated printer is fundamental for this piece, resin printers are recommended. If outer diameters get too big (>40.0mm) after assembling, sand down a bit. M203 conversion kit: In case you don't want bulky grenades on you, or you already have front-loaded standard bb shower grenades, you might want to directly convert your grenade launcher. This piece requires front loading of the projectile and rear loading of the grenade, it's a bit less performing, but works with everything so you can really go around with a bandolier for dirty cheap. Print this piece, and glue it to the front of the grenade launcher. It's untested as I use the launcher but should work just fine. Pecker: Standard grenade, does nothing, it's just fun to shoot and goes really far away. Please print in PVA, PCL or PLA. Biodegradable materials are highly recommended. If you already have a grenade you want to use, print the M203 conversion and glue it to the launcher. Print settings: Use your standard settings. Set 0.39mm as nozzle diameter if slicer has issues. Printer must be capable of printing 1 single perimeter if you want to print the launcher, otherwise you should be fine as no file requires supports. PETG or ASA recommended for launcher if you intend to use CO2 as it stresses the piece quite a bit. Safety concerns: Do not shoot at people, at least at close range. Of course I'm not responsible of your misuse of this platform. Please be careful, do not point the launcher at your face when loaded, do not shoot at people at close range with no protection, especially with CO2. Selling and commercial: Yes please! Print and sell to your friends. I'd like to see what you can do with this platform. Just keep in mind that I've been working on this project for near 9 months, this is just the final version of a really long work. A thank you and a tip would be much appreciated! Remixing: I want to keep this platform as standard as possible so please make sure you maintain compatibility in launcher if you want to remix. Credits: Nobody but me believed in this project, especially my team. Fuck you people here I am :).
