Cthulhu concept
myminifactory
Cthulhu concept design entirely sculpted by me in Zbrush. This fictional deity was created by writer H.P. Lovecraft, first introduced in the short story "The Call of Cthulhu", published in Weird Tales magazine in 1928. As a Great Old One within Lovecraftian cosmic entities, the creature has been featured in numerous popular culture references. According to Lovecraft, Cthulhu is a gigantic and utterly evil entity worshipped by cultists. His anatomy consists of part man, part dragon, and part octopus. Unfortunately, the upper part did not show the finished piece, but hopefully, the model was completely free of support as I tried to do. For this model, I optimized the internal part using boolean operations: to achieve this, I added five cones (two for the arms and three for the torso) that I subtracted in a second phase using dynamesh. Zremesh, project all, and decimation master worked really well on this model, allowing me to display the skin alphas on a really small scale.
