I use Inkskape and the JTech Laser Plugin to generate G-code. I have modified this plugin to include an "overcut function" that was previously unavailable. The new version, which is perfectly compatible with the CTC, can be downloaded from Thingiverse in the download area here. After we issue the G-code, it must be converted from .gcode format to .X3g so it can be retrieved from the SD card using ReplicatorG. I use this software here for this purpose. We need to pay attention to which version is needed because some users who have updated their printers to Sailfish may require a different version. After conversion, we can pack the data onto the SD card and plot directly from there with the printer. To start, we need to prepare several things. First, we print all the parts that are required. We also download and install all the files listed below. Additionally, we order the Silhouette Blade (12€) and the PVC Film at Amazon or a similar retailer. I initially bought a color set to have a basic selection, but after some experience, I can say that most of the time you only use white PVC film and the carrier film. We also need a protector for the print bed made from plastic, which I purchased at my local hardware store and had it cut to 250mm x 180mm x 3mm size there. Additionally, we need a spring, which I bought along with the protector at the hardware store. For those who prefer to order one instead of buying it in-store, a link to a spring set is provided below as the spring costs around 20€ in stores. My trusted hardware store also sold individual springs. The spring measures 9mm x 35mm and I stretched it to 40 mm.
