CTC Prusa Y Bearing Block

CTC Prusa Y Bearing Block

Upgrade to the existing y-axis plywood bearing block. The little plywood plate holding the bearing is a couple mm too long along its axis, enabling bearings to move during rapid direction changes despite how tight zip ties are. This is accurate to the bearing and press fits in very tightly. Existing holes are used to mount to the base of the bed carriage. Holes for zip ties are also there, but they don't necessarily need them as curved walls and tight long ways fit hold bearings very secure. Not sure if it will fit other i3 builds, but it's made for the current CTC Prusa setup. Hope it helps and enjoy! PS: This was all part of preventing slippage on the y-axis that was causing shifting layers. Turns out the biggest culprit was the timing belt pulley not being fully secured to the motor shaft. Make sure those grub screws are tightened very tight!
